Event Organisation

Some of the events I have been involved in organising or speaking at are:

  • codebar coding workshops for people underrepresented in tech (Brighton and London) for 7 years.
  • Founded the codebar Brighton chapter which I co-ran for 3 years.
  • She Codes Brighton – social meet ups for female devs which ran for 2 years.
  • Day long events such as Tech in Ten talks, Arduino workshops, careers events and Mind the Code (a day of mindfulness/yoga/coding!).
  • Sonic Pi music coding workshops.
  • RailsBridge (the day before Brighton Ruby conf to encourage diversity in the Ruby community. Brighton Ruby kindly provided free conference tickets for RailsBridge attendees).
  • Various events for the Government Digital Service Women’s Network on topics such as the gender pay gap work, leadership speed meeting, history of women and the vote and flexible working.
  • Break into Public Speaking.
  • GDS security workshops.
  • Various career talks for year nine girls.
  • Workshops for organisations such as RailsBridge, The Curiosity Hub, Ideas Test, Brighton Digital Festival and the Royal Institute of Computer Science.
